Socialist Sanders Makes Twitter Jab at the Rich, but This Response SILENCED Him

Sen. Bernie Sanders, self-declared socialist and the preferred legislator of gender studies majors from sea to shining sea, has made a career selling himself as the defender of hardworking Americans against the rich he says wish to exploit them.

There’s a trenchant irony in this, as Vermont’s junior senator is fantastically wealthy and hasn’t done a whole lot of hard work in his 75 years on this planet. When he took this act to Twitter, Fox Business’ Charles Payne decided to point out the massive incongruity.

“Let’s be clear: America is not broke,” Sanders tweeted Thursday. “The very wealthy, and huge profitable corporations just aren’t paying their taxes.”

Never mind that, as John Stossel once pointed out in Forbes, that “(i)f the IRS grabbed 100 percent of income over $1 million, the take would be just $616 billion. That’s only a third of this year’s deficit. Our national debt would continue to explode.” Bernie still believes taxing the rich would solve all our problems. Just so long as the “rich” doesn’t include him.

That’s when Payne stepped in, pointing out that Sanders and his wife, Jane, own three homes, including a $600,000 vacation property they purchased in August on Lake Champlain in North Hero, Vermont.

Let’s be clear: America does not have a homelessness problem. The very rich just aren’t giving up their houses. Houses like this one, owned by none other than Bernie Sanders:

Most of our first homes aren’t this swanky. And this house’s owner thinks that the problem with America is the rich.

It’s worth pointing out that Sanders has always drastically underreported his personal wealth, too. MoneyNation analyzed the Vermont senator’s financial disclosure forms and said that based off of that, his net worth was a little over $528,000. However, American Thinker points out that he spent $600,000 on his “vacation home” alone. Money reports that no matter what Sanders’ disclosure forms may say, he is a “de facto millionaire.”

Twitter had a lot of fun with Payne’s tweet, needless to say.

That’s a great idea. If Bernie Sanders is so anxious to enact his confiscatory tax policies, why doesn’t he set an example? There’s nothing preventing him from paying the kind of taxes he wants other wealthy people to pay.

You first, Sen. Sanders. Turn your money in to the IRS. No one’s stopping you.

It’s obvious he is “me blind”. Everyone else should pay, but not “me”. Go home, Bernie.
