Nikki Haley Just Brought The SMACKDOWN on UN Globalists with these 4 EPIC words
Nikki Haley can’t stop. Nikki Haley won’t stop. Last week the US UN Ambassador celebrated a big win for American and common sense against globalist interests.
Haley and President Trump have been pushing the UN to cut some of its over-bloated peacekeeping budget. On Wednesday a deal was struck to cut $600 million from the annual budget, reducing it from $7.87 billion to $7.3 billion.
Haley sent out this celebratory tweet ending with this promise: “we’re only getting started”
The Trump administration originally pushed for a $1 billion cut. The UN released a statement pushing back against the cuts in May:
“The figures presented would simply make it impossible for the UN to continue all of its essential work advancing peace, development, human rights and humanitarian assistance.”
Uhm, what? You’re saying you can’t do everything you need to do with a $7 BILLION budget? This is exactly the kind of thinking that’s wrong at the UN that Haley is trying to change.
Under Obama the US funded 30% of UN peacekeeping missions, far outspending even the second closest contributor, China at 10%. This new cut will reduce our total bill by 7.5%, giving real savings to the American tax payer.
The UN Peacekeeping missions have been rife with abuse and scandal in recent years. UN peacekeepers were involved with a cholera epidemic that killed 6,000 in Haiti. Furthermore, an Associated Press investigation documented nearly 2,000 instances of sexual abuse over 12 years, 300 of those were committed against minors.
Haley called the UN out on these atrocities earlier this year. Defunding some of these peacekeeping missions could force the UN to reform.
Nikki Haley definitely has her work cut out for her, but she is in it to win it. If anyone can reign in the UN and get a better deal for the American people and the world, it’s Nikki Haley, and she’s already off to a great start.
