On Thursday, the First Family did the amazing when President Trump and First Lady Melania (Not to mention Vice President Pence) traveled to Florida to meet with some of the Hurricane Irma victims and not only gave them moral support but served them food as well.
Now while most of us already know that they served food to the hurricane victims, but who paid for it?
At first, Fox news reported that the Federal Emergency Management Agency paid for the meals, but stood corrected shortly after.
“So moments ago I said that the food was provided by FEMA, as often they will do, but this is a nuance now,” host Faulkner said. “The president and the first lady now are hosting this event with their own catering, if you will.”
“THEY PAID FOR THE FOOD THIS IS BEING DISTRIBUTED RIGHT NOW,” CO-HOST SANDRA SMITH ADDED TO CLARIFY.
“That’s awesome,” Fox News contributor Lisa Boothe said. “I commend him for being there today, shaking their hand, looking them in the eye and giving them that hope and belief that things are going to get better.”
“This is what a president does,” Faulkner added.
First Lady Melania Trump posted this Twitter video while aboard Marine One showing the area right before Trump arrived.
