According to the White House Press Office, the President began his meeting with Latin American Leader at 6:48 PM Eastern time.
The President, the Vice President, Secretary Rex Tillerson, and Ambassador Haley, made remarks, the Press took photos and the meeting began.
In plain site setting in front of everyone in attendance, you can see something already on their plates.
What you see is a slice of Cheesecake.
Cheesecake has its roots in ancient Greece. The first recorded history of Cheesecake was around 240 AD. It was later incorporated into European culture around 1000 AD.
Since then Cheesecake has been a favorite dish of world leaders. In the United States Cheesecake has a special history in New York. You might say New York Cheesecake is all American!
“Even though he is best known for his signature sandwiches, Arnold Reuben (1883-1970) is generally credited with creating the New York Style cheesecake. Reuben was born in Germany and he came to America when he was young. The story goes that Reuben was invited to a dinner party where the hostess served a cheese pie. Allegedly, he was so intrigued by this dish that he experimented with the recipe until he came up with the beloved NY Style cheesecake.”
It seems that President Trump chose a classic world dish to make his Latin American guests feel welcome. The best part about it is, he found the best deal.
The Latin American Leaders were comfortable and the President still put America First, even for dinner! They were served the ALL AMERICAN New York Cheesecake, FIRST!
