FEMA Director Just Fired Back at San Juan Mayor With Brutal Message

The drama between the U.S. and San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz started when Cruz attacked President Donald Trump and the United States in the midst of a crisis that Hurricane Maria left behind. Cruz wore several different shirts on live TV, and many claimed it was just a political stunt:

Then she sent a series of tweets on Sunday morning:

ABC News then interviewed Brock Long, the head of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and he responded to the tweets:

  • “We filtered out the mayor a long time ago, and we don’t have time for the political noise.
  • As far as the political noise, we filter that out, keep our heads down, and continue to make progress and push forward restoring essential functions for Puerto Rico.”

He also stated that FEMA has been flying patients out of the hospital without power to a Naval hospital ship and that it’s working to restore Puerto Rico’s power grid.
