Media SILENT About What Trump’s EPA Just Did for The Residents of Flint, Michigan

It should come as no major surprise — except to those who read fake news — that President Donald Trump’s Environmental Protection Agency has responded to the water crisis in Flint, Michigan, by taking decisive action because, despite what liberals frequently claim, Trump’s desire to cut spending at the EPA has nothing to do with his alleged love for dirty water or lack of appreciation for Mother Earth.

As reported by The Verge last year, six years ago the state switched the city’s water supply to the notoriously filthy Flint River. And because the state subsequently failed to properly treat the corrosive water from the river, that water wound up corroding the city’s pipes, causing them to leak lead into its drinking water.

To fix this problem, the state needed lots of money.

Cue Trump’s EPA.

“The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency … today awarded a $100 million grant to the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality to fund drinking water infrastructure upgrades in Flint, Michigan,” the EPA announced in a statement published Friday.

“The people of Flint and all Americans deserve a more responsive federal government,” the statement quoted EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt as having said. “EPA will especially focus on helping Michigan improve Flint’s water infrastructure as part of our larger goal of improving America’s water infrastructure.”

Yet apparently nobody at MSNBC — known for its especially hilarious brand of fake news — received the memo, because on Sunday the outlet ran a piece about the president’s intention to “defund environmental justice at EPA.”

They never learn, do they? Mind you, MSNBC was not the only network to play these games.

In a report published Friday, CNN noted that the money for Flint had actually been earmarked and approved by the administration of former President Barack Obama. While this was true, the network neglected to mention that “Trump’s EPA had to still make the final approval of the funds,” according to Red State.

“Had Trump reversed it, how many articles do you think would have been written about it?” the conservative blog asked. “How much time would the media have dedicated to it?”

Probably all of them. But because the Trump administration chose to allow it instead, mum’s the word, apparently.

Of course, this is the same fake media that propped up the alleged environmental concerns of the Dakota Access Pipeline protesters yet turned a blind eye to the environmental disaster that those protesters ultimately created.
