Just Watch How Angry Bernie Sanders Reacts When Reporters Finally Ask Him About FBI Investigation

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) on Monday refused to answer questions about the FBI investigation centering around his wife, Jane Sanders. Instead, Sanders responded with a completely unrelated talking point about the Senate GOP health care bill.

When asked about the FBI investigation, Sanders first asked the reporter which outlet she was with. When the reporter followed up and asked if he thought the investigation was politically motivated, Sanders went off-topic.

“I’m glad that you’re interested in the fact that the Republican leadership is proposing legislation, which would throw millions of people off of health insurance,” Sanders responded.

In another instance, Sanders brushed off questions from an Associated Press reporter.

“No, that’s not what I’m talking about today,” Sanders said.

CBS News has more details regarding the federal investigation:

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and his wife, Jane Sanders have hired prominent defense attorneys, amid an FBI investigation into a loan Jane Sanders obtained to expand Burlington College while she was its president, CBS News confirms.

Politico Magazine first reported the Sanders had hired lawyers to defend them in the probe. Sanders top adviser Jeff Weaver told CBS News the couple has sought legal protection over federal agents’ allegations from a January 2016 complaint accusing then-President of Burlington College, Ms. Sanders, of distorting donor levels in a 2010 loan application for $10 million from People’s United Bank to purchase 33 acres of land for the institution.

According to Politico, prosecutors might also be looking into allegations that Sen. Sanders’ office inappropriately urged the bank to approve the loan.

The developing story hasn’t generated the wall-to-wall media coverage that the unconfirmed allegations of President Donald Trump’s ties to Russia have — but the investigation is just getting started.
