Russian President Vladimir Putin hailed his meeting with resident Trump. He said that he thinks Trump accepted his assurances that Russia didn’t meddle in the US election. Putin described their conversation as the bedrock for peace between Russia and the US.

Putin spoke to reporters after a two-day G20 summit. Putin said that Trump and him talked about Russian interference in the US election.

Russian President Vladimir Putin repeated his position that “there are no grounds” for allegations of Russian hacking in the US election.

Putin said: ‘It seems to me that he has taken note of that and agreed, but it’s better to ask him about his attitude.”

Putin then praised Trump as a strong negotiator that grasps issues quickly.

“Trump’s T.V. persona differs sharply from the real man. He is a very straightforward person, grasps precisely what his interlocutor says, quickly analyzes and responds to questions or new elements of the discussion.”
